Dork Diaries TV Star – Review

Dorkdork Diaries: TV Star is the seventh book in the Dork Diaries series by Rachel Renee Russell which charts the life of Nikki Maxwell the ultimate dork teenager through her amusing and eventful diary entries.

Although my daughter hasn’t read the rest of the serious she did love filling in her copy of the Dork Diaries OMG: All About Me Diary! A journal for kids, which asks them all sorts of essential questions like, which song could you listen to 100 times! So she was more than happy to be asked to review this.

This episode of the dork Diaries see’s Nikki spotted by a talent agent as she performs her own song “Dork’s Rule” at the school talent show. Class beauty and bully Mackenzie isn’t about to let Nikki grab the limelight though and does all she can to become the centre of attention and ruin Nikki’s reputation, will she succeed though? A fun filled time ensues with twists and turns throughout the book which will keep you guessing to the end how things will turn out (I’ve deliberately missed out some of Rachel’s review so there’s no spoilers).

Here’s Rachel’s Review

001

Plot – Nikki is offered a record deal and get’s her own reality TV show but class bully mackenzie somehow ends up stealing the limelight.

Characters – The main characters are Nikki, her best friends Zoey and Chloe. My favourite character is Brandon, Nikki’s boyfriend because he is funny and really cute.

Recommend – I would recommend this to a friend because it was funny and interesting. This book is probably best for 8 – 11 year olds.

I think Rachel will definitely be adding these books to her reading list, and if like her your children are fan’s of the Diary Of A Wimpy Kid books or Jacqueline Wilson this will be right up there street.

She also loved the Dork Diaries website which is packed with games, competitions and art ideas which are guaranteed to keep Dork Diary fans happy for hours.

Dork Diaries: TV Star is available from Amazon and most other book outlets now.
